Board Guidelines
The following rules are designed to maintain the boards as a fun and safe place to post. Whether a member has 1 or 1001 posts, infractions will be dealt with objectively and fairly.

All Boards
A1) No spamming. If your one and only post here is self promotion, this means you. (Do I show up selling my stuff at your front door?)

A2) Absolutely NO fellow poster bashing. Labeling your fellow posters or fan bases is not appreciated. Public flame wars will be considered abuse. It is possible to debate one's opinion without demeaning it. Posts may be edited per request at the discretion of Administration.

A3) Keep it clean. Profanity filters are in effect. Please do NOT try to override them.

A4) Posts breaking board rules are subject to being edited, moved or deleted at the discretion of Administration.

A5) Continual abuse may result in the Administration suspending, restricting, or revoking your posting privileges.

A6) Posters are not permitted to sign up and post under multiple usernames. This is disruptive to the board. (Do not carry on a conversation with yourself. IP addresses are viewable by Administration) Intentionally masking/falsifying IP addresses are subject to disciplinary action at the discretion of Administration.

A7) If you have any questions or concerns, rather than take matters into your own hands by making a post, please - report the post or email one of the admins. We WILL review your concern and take action if necessary. Please be advised that while we receive the Reports via email - we are not able to reply from said Report (so, unfortunately, you will not necessarily receive feedback regarding your concern). If no action is taken, and you'd like to discuss the matter further, please email: LuvThatKatherine @yahoo.com, Elks1027 @hotmail.com, tonihelen @gmail.com (removing the spaces).

A8) Email addresses from this site may not be gathered for the use of sending spam. Our email database and PM feature are NOT to be used maliciously or in any way that would disrupt the integrity of the board. If you receive any correspondence that you believe is an infraction of this rule, please forward it to the Administration.

A9) Administration has the right to suspend or ban any member who's posts, upon review, are deemed to be disruptive to the overall tone and atmosphere of the boards. (If your posts are repeatedly reported, Administration will review your conduct on the boards and suggest you reconsider your participation - or revoke posting privileges if necessary)

A10) Please do not 'bump' threads unless it's for a good reason (no one responding to your post is not one of them).

A11) Actor/Actress bashing (ex: physical trait, talent, etc.) is ONLY permitted in the Soap Slam Forum. Any posts not abiding by this will be edited/deleted at the discretion of Administration.

Graphics
B1) Signatures may include one graphic that must be no larger than 300X100 pixels (approximately 1X3 inches).

B2) Please do not post large graphics frequently. The board would take too long to load and we'd only fit 2 or 3 posts per page. As I often surf on my laptop using a dial up connection, I can attest to the irritation of excessive graphics bogging down an otherwise entertaining site/message board.)

B2) Graphics used within your post or signature must NOT be 'hotlinked' if the site you are linking to forbids it. You must save the graphic to your computer and upload it to the Internet. Please post on the Help Board if you need assistance with this. (Most, if not all sites forbid this as it uses up their bandwidth and actually costs them money). However, there are some places to store your graphics (IE. Photobucket)

B3) Please keep your font size to a reasonable size. Using a size 25 font may make your post stand out, but it's quite distracting. Typing in all caps is considered 'shouting'.

Links
C1) For copyright related reasons, links to unofficial Y&R sites are NOT permitted on this board. You may link to official sites such as CBS, Sony, SOD, or official cast member websites. Adding the link in text form is permissible - just do not make it an active link. Links to unofficial sites will be removed. Contact me about including a link to your OWN unofficial site.

Y&R Discussion Board
D1) Please make an attempt to keep threads on the topic of Y&R. Off topic posts may be edited, moved or deleted as necessary.

D2) Do not post major 'Spoilers' in this board. These belong in Spoiler Central. If your post contains a minor spoiler, please indicate as such in the subject/title.

D3) Bashing of the actors PHYSICAL traits/talent or writers skill (or lack thereof) is not appreciated here. However, feel free to bash a fictional character unless it states "No Bashing" in the subject/title line. Any posts not abiding by this rule will be deleted at the discretion of Administration. (Hint: If the actor were to read it and be offended, it belongs in the Soap Slam)

D4) Though the board is obviously a place for debate and discussion, some members are adverse to the negativity that often comes along with that. As such, members have the option of stating 'no bashing please' in the title of any thread they start. As such, we request that members respect that request and refrain from taking that particular thread in a negative direction (though are certainly welcome to start a new thread in the appropriate forum). Upon review, posts breaking this guideline may be moved or deleted accordingly (dependent upon whether the post in question bashes the actor - or the character).

D5)If a thread is created with 'no bashing' in the title, please respect the author's request. But please note that 'no bashing' would then apply to ALL characters/actors discussed.(IE. A thread can't be started that states no bashing of Jack - but it's OK to bash Victor).

Chit Chat Board
E1) While no subjects are specifically disallowed, some are obviously more sensitive than others. Please keep in mind that this board is PG13 and post accordingly. Political and Religion based discussions are acceptable, debates are fine - but not necessarily here. (Hint: No poster should be made to feel their 'opinion' is wrong. It's fine to state your opinion - but to do so repeatedly is argumentative. IE: 10 posters expressing opinions in a 10 post thread on politics is a healthy discussion - but 2 posters participating in a 10 post thread is usually an argument. If NO rules are broken, but rather, you're offended by opinions expressed, it might be best to steer clear of the topic altogether).

Spoiler Central
F1) Spoilers are always appreciated but please do not infringe on copyrighted material. If you copy/paste from an official site, please credit the source. If spoilers come from an unofficial source, please reword. Spoilers not crediting a source may be deleted at the discretion of Administration.

F2) Please do not posts links to or copy/paste spoilers that preview the show before I upload that episode. Revenue from ads on those pages is what pays for the message boards so it makes no sense for us to promote our competition (You don't see McDonald's running ads for Burger King do ya?).

Soap Slam
G1) Though general bashing of the actors, writers etc. is welcome here, bashing of fellow posters is NOT. Challenge the post - not the poster. If you're unsure of the difference, or offended, it might be best to just stick with the Y&R Board. Administration reserves the right to intercede at any time.

G2) As there is only one Soap Slam Board, if you're posting regarding another show, please include the show acronym in the title (IE. B&B, DOOL etc).

Abuse of Rules: Wrist Slapping and Other Disciplinary Fun
Posts that break guidelines are archived on their own special 'He Said/She Said' Board - using the Poster username as the subject title. Our new board has a handy warning system (viewable to each poster individually as opposed to being public) and will be used for members who continually abuse the board guidelines. Warnings are permanent and will be issued at the discretion of Administration; further disciplinary action may/will also be taken by Administration and will be based on each individual situation. Disciplinary action includes but is not limited to: a members posts having to be approved by Administration prior to them being posted to the board, being able to only view the board and no longer post as well as temporary suspension and permanent banning from the board.

A suspended poster might want to use their 'time out' to decide if they're a good fit for this board - and if they'd be happy participating within the set guidelines. If Yes, then please feel free to return and post within them.

As suspension is done privately, for the poster's consideration, I expect the same consideration. Please do not come back complaining and/or whining about being suspended and trying to plead your case in the 'public arena'. Email the Admin team.

If you have any questions or concerns, please use the 'Report' button on this (or any) post authored by me.

Whew - now that that's out of the way, let me say that our goal is to provide a fun/safe place to post.

Thanks,
Toni
